3D Printing Types!

Right now! there are a lot of 3D Printing Technology types and every year there are more types added to the list when merging 3D Printing technologies with existing manufacturing techniques & fields, the most common types based on technology used are;

  • FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling).

  • Stereo lithography (SLA).

  • Digital Light Processing (DLP).

  • Selective Laser Sintering (SLS).

  • Selective Laser Melting (SLM).

  • Electronic Beam Melting (EBM).

  • Laminated Object Manufacturing (LOM).

  • Binder Jetting (BJ).

  • Material Jetting (MJ).

  • FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling)
    / FFF (Filament Filament Fabrication)

A Thermoplastic string (Filament) is extruded through a melting nozzle (Hot end) to extrude molten Thermoplastic line that draws the shape lines into a layer, then the 3D shape is created by adding layers above each other.

  • The most common 3D Printing type.

  • Started at the 80's, and start it's wide spread in the  last 5 years.

  • Using Thermoplastic materials.

  • Used for home & industrial Thermoplastic applications.

  • + Surface finish, Colors and wide choices of materials.

  • - Some time Brittle, not sustainable for mechanical stress.
